Hells yeah. Looks too light now. But if Enns can ride it I guess a normal sized guy can too.

ouch!

The Volume and Demolition sites now allow comment bitching after their news posts, much like this fine website, and it's good too see one of my favourite riders fully embracing bmx salt! Also, I'm not really that much of a fan of Volume or Demolition (mainly becuase of Castillo) but christ the deathwish is a sexy piece of metal.

A couple of high quality movies; the first is me eating shit on a 180 at Farnborough (for the record, I'd just pulled one!) and the second is me getting my trials on for my housemates. Timmy filmed, and from left to right, it's Robbo, Guerns, Claire, and Hairy in the background. Turn the sound up, it's pretty funny. Also for the record, The wall was 4 inches wide, and I pulled the next attempt without a dab!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOBIN

18 today, hungover tomorrow.

In other news, A train ride and an hour's ride along a dual carridgeway in howling wind and lashing rain to a full pipe that turns out to be a 3/4 pipe (the bottom quarter consisting of concrete and a river) is pretty gay. As is the ride back to the train station, which gets you so wet that you may as well have been swimming fully clothed. But, it's a worthy cause, and had it been ridable, I wouldn't have complained, maybe one day...

Also:

Truely stunning street links.

Got some camera phone action from Derby for you boys and lady-boys.

Gary sitting on the cock ramp (the death ramp's bastard child) at our recent bbq. Some guy that looked like Jesus came round at 10.10 (so still kinda light) to ask us to turn the music, that was already quite low, down so his children could sleep. Maybe he shouldve closed his children's bedroom windows then the dick head.

He put across a better argument than my drunken point of "OI! are you that guy that's married to that bitch that got our ramp taken down". Turns out he is married to that harpy, he looks like Jesus but is grumpy and we SHALL knock his satellite dish off with waterbombs before we move out.

Big gay Gary loves koche ramp.

Rob doing a rail we found a while ago.

If you're right side pegs you've got a fair old hop to get on the bast'ad. Lefties got a low hop since there's raised pavement but you have to gap over a huuuuuuuge chasm that isn't that big I was just being gay that day... may have to stop being a pussy and do it soon.

This is the rail we went to today. Its the perfect height, same level as the top of your headset/bottom of stem.

Josh doing the small length of rail, but in the background theres the same rail but goes about 20ft, fairly irrelevant considering its hard to slide further than 2ft on it due to all the rust, but hey it was only first day riding it.

Yup so Josh n' I rode that today.

Chris's trails, layout for the summer.

But I'm not gona get dirt in my tyres now am I. Josh went up there a while ago with Chris and some others but didn't have a brake so didn't do 'em.

Guess Rob, Ze and Josh may think about doing them.

That's pretty much it, there are a couple of extra Barcelona photos I took on www.archetypebmx.com but check out everyone elses, also on the site, as theirs are better.

Adios

For Neil (and anyone else interested) there's a monthly movie on www.bmxigans.com of a contest at Mellow Park with its new layout. The curved wall looks nuts, got a little bit of trails footage too.

JASON SMASHED HIS FACE

into the ground at fleet. fucking harsh proof that the park needs to be painted. the last time they painted it was at the end of last summer. jason just did a little table over the jumpbox and landed a tiny bit wonky, should have been fine but because fleet is so slippery his back wheel just went from under him, and he landed face first onto the concrete. this was what came out of his chin. the rest completely covered the left side of his face up to his ear, and all over his hand.

the ambulance took him to the hospital to get his chin stitched back together. sour buzz jase.

Someone send me some good grime for the barca video!!

It sounds awesome on videos to street riding but i dont listen to it so i know shit about das genre.

Nick's put some bomb-ass pictures of barca up on http://carvebmxmedia.deviantart.com. Boys be reppin'!

bmx is dead it seems...

I put this down to:

a) People running around like nob heads trying to get assigments for uni or college in, or doing exams.

b) Gay-ass injury.......although I did get an apointment with a hot nurse (shock horror?! I didn't think the NHS actually employeed any) who massaged my arm and hand for a good 20min. I think next time I may "injure" my groin. Maybe Nobin should look into foot and ankle massages off hot NHS types?

Nick recently sent me a short movie he made of yours truely, riding a bicycle, a good few years ago. I think it's pretty well edited together, considering all of the clips come from Neil's compact digital camera. However, the standard of riding is firmly 'on the hook' (i.e. rubbish) and there's massive chainrings and bad hairstyles aplenty. So, if you fancy a giggle, click the link.

"Random BMX: B&W, 35mm slide, medium format or digital?

Mark Noble: Digital for sheer convenience. B/W for art. Medium format for pin sharpness. 35mm slide for that good old fashioned Velvia feeling..."

Hello, and good day,

Today's topic is street bicycles.

Modern street machines tend to have short toptubes e.g. the Federal Hamilton, Fly Mosca and Macneil Heaton.

Choosing a new frame and finding the cash for it can be hard.

But wait! There is another way.

Do YOU have a long toptube bike, perhaps even a 22"? There is salvation.

To obtain that raw 'street look' everyones after these days simply turn your bars through 180 degrees, thus effectivly shortening your bike and and completely fucking with the geometry. Great!

Next get that 'core urban rider vibe by either sanding, in various consistancy, the paint off your frame (remember kids, the more abrasive the glass paper the streeter you are) OR just rub your nicely powdercoated tubing against ledges. Dont waste your time using marble ledges, theyre far too smooth and tantamount to skatepark coping, no, you want red brick walls and rough concrete.
Skins, now your frame looks SHIT!

What's that mechanical attachment doing on your frame and bars? That wire instrument looks like it may hinder barspins or tailwhips landed to your brick wall dented toptube. Sure you know that you can't do barspins down an 8set or whop off a curb but OTHERS don't, so for godsake get that stopping device off now, before it ruins your street cred.

Remember we don't want people thinking you ever even considered running a brake so those lugs are deffinetly coming off. But oh no! You don't own an angle grinder and would probably only suceed in cutting into your 'stay's' tubing anyway (could look street?). Fear not, find a large club hammer, the heavier the better, and smash those bastards off, afterall that is 32 grams of dead weight you're lugging around. If you're a bit of a pussy and don't manage to knock the lugs clean off just dent them inwards sufficently so you can't run a brake, maybe you'll get lucky and they'll catch on your wheel, daymn you're dope.

To finish your street hog, launch it off a bridge a couple of times that has a minimum of 15ft drop to concrete. This will help the majority of your components to 'bed in' for that rattly street sounding banger.

I hope you have enjoyed today's topic brought to you by Shawn Anderson
