Some good news from the credit crunch

Only one example I'm afraid, sadly not enough to turn around the global recession. Apologies for the boring topic guys, but it is very tenuously BMX-related.

This example being Harrow Skatepark - I went there at the weekend, it is still there and it is still fun to ride. No one has any money to buy and develop the land so the park has been given 3 years grace, or until finance starts flowing freely again. In the meantime the park will stay, they have a new ghetto wood quarter in the corner, and with sponsor money they're hoping for a spine to be added (potentially concrete).

In other news the trails are still there and will require minimal work to get the 10-pack running. Bit sketchy, but a 15 minute train ride from my new place so I'm gonna try and find whoever builds there and hopefully fix them up. No need to wait til Summer for a trails session Perry!

Also, Mega is a pilot for Easyjet! He is married and settled, but according to the guy I spoke to he is still a dirty b*stard and occasionally calls his mates whilst on the crapper. Legend.

No photos because I was riding solo and didn't fancy having my camera stolen by any ASBO kids.

"21 February So, finally after talking about sorting this for awhile, we're gonna have a night screening all the great dvd's that have been released over the last month or so, we should have done this at christmas but timescales etc just didn't work out!, it should be fun and a chance during these cold winter months for all bmx's to hang out and catch up. Here's a rough list of what we'll show! S&M bikes "i wanna live", shadow conspiracy "into the void", 70's "up in smoke", 4 down's volume 1, and just maybe something special from that bmx company begining with "M"........ £3 in, it's a bar so use common sense 18's only etc, come down have fun!"

I've been wanting to watch the SPRUNG videos again recently, so I emailed Alex Rankin. Apparently they're going to be re-released on DVD later in the year! I'm pretty stoked on that.

I was driving through London today and saw a dude on a yellow framed bmx waiting at the traffic lights. As I pulled closer to look at the bike I thought fuck me he's little old to on a bmx especially having long hair and a fat tache, nice S&M union jack stem though. Then it struck me, what kind of legend has a yellow frame, S&M parts and long hair, only fucking FIDS! Made my fucking day that did. Who said friday the 13th is unlucky eh!
