STREET vs TWEAK

jason and robin checked out the street vs tweak jam in southampton on sunday.

the first spot was the MFI banks. nice big brick banks to road barrier sub which had a good pallet wallride on it. robin was being pretty slack with the camera action but stuff went down - truck fakie, whips and downwhips, fuf to ice on the barrier, 180s and 360s over the barrier...

jason did some good ice pickles:

then there was a 'down low' comp. basically bike limbo under the height jump bar. me and jason got knocked out in an early round, but it kept going til the bar was less than 3ft. this kid loosened his bars and sloped them backwards to make his bike lower... and some sideways pedal and bar end skidders went down. pretty funny.

then there was a wheelie race across the car park!

after that, the growing crowd of riders moved on to a nice rail and stair set near the waterfront. there were boards on the steps so we were using it like a launch too. this guy managed a 180 to fakie double peg to 180 off, bloody ace.

other things happened: weird pocket fufanu on the rail, 360 down the steps, whip into the bank... lots of shredding. and we had a height comp out of the steps launch.

jason got excited and hurt himself: (click it for animation)

then we headed to ocean village and 'the white cock spot'. basically two 7-sets with 2 blocks and loads of space. got moaned at by a restaurant man but nobody really listened... a massive crowd of people gathered to watch many small bikes go down stairs in different ways: 180 bars down the 2nd set, 360s down... then got shut down by security hassle.

before we got moved on, jason did a couple of wallrides down the 2nd set... check out how much his front tyre likes that wall:

and this nutter was doing wallride to 180 down the 2nd set. bloody rad.

then we rode the ultimate tight and slippy park, think fleet but more compact and extreme! it was weird. robin did a salmon. it was well recieved.

rad times! soton has awesome spots. word.
