Genuine made in England pair of crutches.
Aluminium dual sliders, drilled for weight reduction.
PET lightweight injection moulded grips.
Softcore low density rubber feet with wallride specific tread.

(Yellow bike is not my regular bike, its pretty much Malaga bike and lives in my room)

Robin suggested we do some bike checks on Fleetscene, good idea I reckon. Everyone get theirs up! Mine's had a bit of an overhaul recently, so here it is:

Frame: Deluxe XXL (2010) casselberry red, you all know the deal...
Forks: Odyssey Race
Stem: Salt Plus toploader (50mm) - cheers to McConnell for that one
Bars: Attilla Hotbars, cut down about 1/2 inch each side. Due to be replaced by some higher bars so I can lose a few stackers...
Grips: Sunline longneck copies
Saddle: Odyssey MX (oldest part on the bike)
Seatpost: Odyssey Intac
Seat Clamp: Animal
Cranks: DK chopsticks - these will have to go soon!
BB: Profile spanish
Pedals: Animal Hamilton Plastics - thanks to James for these
Chainring: Renthal 28t. Love this.
Chain: Odyssey Bluebird
Driver: Odyssey 10t (RHD)
Front Wheel: Seventies hub, Sun Rhyno Lite rim, 36h
Front Tyre: Primo V-monster 2.10
Rear wheel: Odyssey Hazard Hub custom laced to an Odyssey 7KA rim, 36h TUBELESS.

My rear wheel was built for me by my good friend James Sinclair. It features a custom three-cross pattern, with welded alloy bands around the final cross. These act like an extra-wide flange, and improve stiffness. It's a technique used in some lightweight road and XC wheel builds. I've fucked up plenty of tailwhip attempts and it's still as true as anything.
James also converted the wheel to run tubeless. To do this, he placed a 16" innertube on the rim and sliced it up the middle, so it splayed out like an extra-wide rim tape. Then he seated the tyre (Fit FAF Kevlar, 1.95) and added tyre sealant. Once it was pumped up, the excess inner tube hanging out of the sides was trimmed, and the sealant sealed any small leaks. Because the tyre has nothing inside it to push against when hitting a bump (other than air), it feels noticeably different and really fast. All this hard work has left me with an extremely light and rather unique wheel. Cheers James.

I think after the bars and cranks (and maybe front tyre) have been changed, it'll be finished.

Mecca is in Lincolnshire!

I say we should all hit the North East for the August Bank holiday long weekend to ride these, at least. Maybe again before then. I will definitely be back in the next few months to have a go at the big line (the wind picked up to a storm making the place un-ridable when I returned the next day).

Oh yeah and they're getting a brand new BMX track built closeby in the next few month, after TEN YEARS of trying!!

It's safe to say that I have the BMX buzz back :-)

Lots of trees and greenery at the new Mellowpark. They've kept the awesome spine mini and built new trails, which look brilliant.
